Voigtlander Prominent
Manufactured around 1951, this interchangeable-lens 35mm rangefinder camera is fitted with a 50mm f/2.0 Ultron lens in a Synchro-Compur shutter. The shutter is cocked automatically by the film advance mechanism. The rangefinder is coupled, and the focus is set by turning the ring surrounding the film rewind knob. Seen here with a 50mm f/2 Ultron lens, but often found with a 50mm f/1.5 Nokton lens, or a 50mm f/3.5 Color-Skopar lens instead. This beautifully engineered camera was Voigtlander's flagship 35mm system camera of the time, and is built to a very high standard of finish. Shown here both with and without that impressive lenshood.
