Voigtlander Vitessa L
Manufactured around 1954 this 35mm camera is fitted with a 50mm f/2 Ultron lens in a Synchro-Compur shutter. The film is advanced, and the shutter is cocked by pressing down on the pushrod visible on the top plate. This is an unusual method of advancing the film, but is actually very quick to use in practice. The rangefinder is coupled, and the lens focus adjustments are made with a wheel at the back of the top plate. The selenium-cell exposure meter is uncoupled. The Vitessa L is a very well-engineered camera like most Voigtlander products and the Ultron lens has a well-deserved reputation for sharpness.
